There will be an emphasis on basic number theory and problem solving both conceptually and practically, including the use of real life problems. The course focuses on mastery of the following skills: creating and solving algebraic equations; working confidently with integers, fractions, and decimals; understanding ratios, proportions, and percentages; graphing on the coordinate plane; probability; geometric concepts such as area, volume, relationships; estimating and converting measurement units; and the appropriate use of data analysis.
